Hutton First LEGO League (FLL) teams are looking for a dynamic and creative community member or parent to help coach the school team. The time commitment will be mid-September to March for approximately 2 hours per week.
As a FIRST LEGO League Coach you will play a crucial role in guiding and mentoring children in the FLL program for 4th-7th grade students. You primary role will be to lead and facilitate a team of students, encouraging their creativity and problem-solving skills while instilling a passion for STEAM education. As an FLL Coach, you will be instrumental in facilitating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) hands-on learning supporting teams to engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering, while fostering teamwork and collaboration among the students.
Throughout the season team members will design, build, and fabricate a functional robot for competition. Teams must also complete a science project about the year’s theme (Underwater) and finding then sharing new solutions to problems. They will also provide advice, emotional support, and practical resources.
